Summer never ends

Summer never ends in Curaçao and although we have no seasons here, I still feel that we are entering a new phase. Maybe it's because my sister is almost having a baby (can't wait!), or we have new holiday scheduled for November... or maybe because we are always working on new projects in and around the house.

Perhaps it's the healthy lifestyle that we (especially me) are planning to hold, with many zumba, bodypump, yoga and bodayshape classes at the gym? I have no idea, but it's an exciting time. ♥

On this beautiful Wednesday morning in Curaçao

I love it when I start the morning full of inspiration and creative ideas.

I want to share this picture with you, not only because of the weather (ok a little), but also want to give you a  sneak peek at my work. I am proud to work on such a beautiful place.

Sweet banana cake with chocolate!

Baking sweets is one of my favorite things to do in the kitchen.

Ingredients: 
150 grams of butter
3 ripe bananas
250 grams of flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
200 grams of brown sugar
2 eggs, keep the egg yolk and egg white separately
cinnamon powder 
100 grams of dark chocolate
vanilla extract

If you are using a baking dish, make sure you have a good layer of butter or use cooking spray.
Cut the banana into small pieces. Put them in a bowl and mix it with butter, flour and brown sugar. Add the egg yolks, cinnamon powder + vanille extract and mix until creamy. Beat the egg white until stiff and add to the batter. Add small or large pieces of dark chocolate to the batter and stir well.

Put the batter into the baking dish or small cupcakes. If you use cupcakes it is advisable to put them in a silicone mold so that they remain in good shape while baking.  I have bought my colorful cupcakes and silicone mold at Albert Heijn Zeelandia.

Bake the first 30 minutes in 180 degrees, then 30 minutes in 150 degrees.

And voila ..... blissful banana cakes with chocolate!

Office make-over

One of the finest rooms in my house has to be my office. At least, for several weeks, it is the place where I like to sit to work, craft, blog and make new plans.
It is also the place where I collect my inspiration, on walls, books and moodoards.

The 'before' picture is taken when we just moved to our new home. The after picture is all with handmade furniture (thanks to my handy man).

Craving home

The past few weeks was very busy with work and all kinds of (fun!)things. Our trip to Miami, my mother came to Curaçao, my 30th birthday and anniversaries of many other friends, farewell drinks and my vacation to Netherlands. It was a wonderful time! 

I am looking forward to working on some new blogposts and create new things.
I'm ready to jump back into my blog... picking up where I left off! :)

Summer Fair

Yesterday we organized the Summer Fair at Hotel 't Klooster / Grand Café Augustinus. 

The evening was well attended and the atmosphere was fantastic!

The last weeks have been extremely busy, but full of new ideas and inspiration.
I started the Spanish course at the International School of Curaçao, me gusta!

Save your bliss

Through my blog I try to inspire others to look at everyday things, sometimes so easily forgotten. My moments of happiness - my bliss moments - I try to capture through photographs of everyday life, thoughts and objects that make me happy. 

Since this year I keep my treasures of thoughts and memories in a glass jar,  which I've decorated with beads and maskingtape. Once in a while I throw my treasures in it: from cinema tickets, shells, stones, party invitations, pictures or thoughts, I keep all my treasures of this year together.
